We are hitting some small UX issues with #Takahe still and we are considering alternative microblogging servers...
What I like about Takahe:
- Python
- Display domains can be different than service domains https://docs.jointakahe.org/en/latest/domains/
- No client built-in (we are using #Phanpy anyway)
What alternatives do you recommend? Or should we just bite the bullet and run Mastodon? I fear self-hosting without knowing Ruby or Sidekiq might be challenging.

@astrojuanlu In the following days I plan to setup GoToSocial, but I'm not sure if that covers all your checkboxes, just an alternative.
@astrojuanlu Oh I hope development continues. It’s the only multi-domain server I know of.
@diazona It's cool but development is slowing down a bit and it's a bit rough around the edges (or maybe I got used to Mastodon paper cuts, which is what my instance uses...)
@astrojuanlu Darn, kind of unfortunate to hear that development is slowing down. I guess being a bit rough is to be expected for early software. But the site looked pretty good when I checked it out - clearly it's quite well developed so far.
